ABOUT CIMATHEQUE

 

Cimatheque – Alternative Film Centre, believes in the diversity of the cinematic art, and hopes to create a space in which audiences, film practitioners, critics and other specialists can exchange ideas, experiences, and participate in an open discussion regarding film. Cimatheque’s services and programmes include film screenings, specialized workshops, a library a moving image archive, and a lab for Super 8mm and 16mm analogue film.

 

ABOUT CIMATHEQUE 'S LIBRARY

The library at Cimatheque entails books in various languages covering different facets of film including production, screenwriting, directing, as well as history and theory. A wide array of both older and contemporary periodicals are presented, including a number of well-known, sundry Arabic publications. The DVD collection likewise features a mix of classic, essential works and alternative, experimental films, made available for onsite viewing in the Mediatheque’s Viewing Room.
